Dub vs Sub

 This debate has been going on for years and many viewers have their own perspectives and I respect them. The debate started when there were more of dub users appearing, this kind of saddened the anime community.

Before I give my opinion on this topic, there are some pros and cons to be discussed and why more anime watchers prefer dub more than sub and vice versa, about how sub is unique in its own way.

(These are just my opinions towards a certain topic, and this does not intend to harm any induvial or their opinions) 

Let us learn my understanding what is sub and dub:

      Sub stands for subtitled- Which mean that the anime that are made in Japan have a voice over in their native language (which is Japanese) and come with English subtitles by default.

    Dub stands for dubbed (dubbed audio)- The anime which are available by default, that is in Japanese are converted into other languages- like English or Portuguese and so on. The voice over will be given in these languages and the English subtitles will remain intact or in some cases, removed.  

Now let's know what the debate is about:

Sub watchers argue that anime should be watched in the native language and not be dubbed into other languages as it loses its originality and there is noting that makes it an anime, and it simply becomes an animation.

Dub watchers argue that anime should be available in every language so they can enjoy it in their native language and at their convenience. There are some anime watchers who don't like to read subtitles and just enjoy the visuals and the fight scenes, and the other elements.

Both of them are right in their own way, but how to decide which of them has a higher point to make?

With have watched over 200 anime series, I think I might be able to answer this question of why choose sub over dub? Or vice versa.

Well, we all know that Anime is made in Japan, and they have different voice artists to give voice overs and so on. We cannot argue about the quality of those voice overs and theme songs as they are always top notch. 

But why do people prefer dub over sub even after all these reasons? 

         There are many kinds of viewers, people who like to watch with subtitles or without subtitles. People tend to choose dub while watching anime as there are many action scenes, wholesome scenes filled in an episode and people don't want to miss that and read subtitles. Watching an anime series in dub does make it lose its originality but also at the same time doesn't make it any less of an anime.

Therefore, my conclusion is people are free to watch what they want in any language, we can't force them to watch it with restrictions. That does make the viewers forced and they may lose interest.
