Tips for Beginners
I have been watching anime for a few years now and in those years, I have seen many people who stated watching anime or completely stopped them. There might be a few reasons behind this and the points which I have mentioned below will help you grasp the knowledge of why is it that you have started watching anime?
What I have noticed is that many people start anime because they don't want to feel left out or because of peer pressure. Doing the same will result in you losing interest in anime sooner or later, anime is an entirely different form of entertainment and its best when one really feels strongly that they should give anime a try.
Here are some pro tips for you if you are a beginner or planning to enter the world of anime, these few points will surely be helpful and will bond a special connection with the same.
- Start an anime with a good intention.
- Choose the genre you are most comfortable with.
- Don't force yourself to long anime shows.
- Stream for a considerable amount of time.
- Don't watch anime to compete with your peers.
Watching anime is as crucial as watching any other movies or TV series, being honest with yourself is the biggest confirmation. On confirming that, don't watch an anime to finish it or to complete it first, enjoy the series, embrace the characters, admire them. That's when you will be truly able to enjoy an anime series.
A genre is what is the most important to anime audience, if a viewer chooses action when they like comedy that won't work out for long, and they end up hating the term anime. So, choosing the right genre with interests you are the second step to being a weeb.
Don't start watching anime like One Piece or Naruto at the starting itself, stick with anime that have 12-13 episodes, get used to the concept of anime before jumping off to the big ones. That makes you confident and you get used to the visuals, the subtitles (if sub) and more.
Watch an anime for a less amount of time at the beginning, once you get used to it you can binge watch or watch complete seasons together. To get used to anime, watch only how much you can. Overdoing yourself may lead to you losing interest.
Anime is a very sensitive topic, and many people just ignore them by terming them "cartoon". Peer pressure can always pressurize you to things you don't want to do, and anime is one such thing you need to avoid if you are not ready.
